Need to report bad metadata to Google Books?

If you’ve worked with GBS, you know sometimes they’ve got wrong ISBNs and such. Not surprising when dealing with machine analysis of such a large variety of disparate data like they have (not to mention possible errors in the data input to them).

Now they have a form for reporting such things when found:

http://books.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=report_books_issue

The google engineer who directed me to this tells me…

Although we’re not fixing each book manually, we are keeping track of all of them internally to measure the efficacy of some backend improvements we’re making in this area. If we’re successful these books will ‘fix themselves’ over time…

While the options on this form might make you unsure that a report about bad metadata will get to the right person, the Google engineer assures me it will, and if they got lots of bad metadata reports they’ll customize the entry form to allow more clear options.
